Today I've come with another review on one of the beautiful places of Nepal,
Chandragiri Hills, which lies on the south-west side of Kathmandu Valley.
I visit this place once or more than that in a year because
I really love this place and enjoy its beauty.
DETAIL ABOUT CHANDRAGIRI AND HISTORY
From thankot, Chandragiri Hills is seven kilometres away. It lies on the south-west side of Kathmandu valley which is 2551 metres above sea level. The panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley can be obtained from the hills. Also, it provides the view of Himalayan ranges from Annapurna to Everest.
Chandragiri hills is connected with the unification of Nepal which was done by the late king Prithvi Narayan Shah. It's believed that late King Prithvi Narayan Shah used to worship in the temple of Chandragiri, known as Valeshwor Mahadev, located at the top of the hill, which is the major attraction and significant religious sites of Hinduism. And also known that temple is a tribute to his unification campaign. There is also monument image of Prithvi Naryan Shah viewing the Kathmandu Valley from the top of the hill.

For Hiking
In my opinion, Chandragiri is the best place of Kathmandu for hiking. I really suggest this place among the hiking destinations of Kathmandu valley. It's bit difficult as some parts are tough and some are normal but you will be comfortable with the guide as he will perfectly guide you.
( One way hiking and one way riding a cable car is what we did and was great and I suggest this, if you are lover of hiking or trekking. The total time we were hiking was 3hours)
SOME PLACES OF CHANDRAGIRI
1. Cable Car
It's the shortest mean of transportation to reach the top of the hill, if you are planning of finishing the trip in short time. If you have never ride a cable car before, it'll be good
time to enjoy it. But if you are afraid of height, I don't recommend it.

2.View tower
At the height of 2547m, you can see beautiful white view tower that gives you an amazing view of different peaks. Different mountain ranges can be seen from here. For view tower, per each person Rs50 is needed.
3. Children's Playground
Children playground was one of the impressing things for me as it was really made well and my sister who is now 7 years old really enjoyed well. It was designed with the climbing ropes, swings, colourful slides, seesaws, and baby jungle gym. And the floor is also maintained well that even if the children falls, she/he will not be injured deeply.
4. Restaurants / Stores
There are many coffee shops and restaurants here. Honestly, the price is little bit expensive here but different kinds of food items are found easily. Besides that, many stores are found for shopping. But in my opinion is chandragiri samma ayers k luga suga kinnu.

Children aged 11 or below must be accompanied by an adult, aged above 15 or above.
( wheel chair - Cable car operators assist wheel chair- bound passengers while boarding and disembarking the cabins)
HOW TO GET CHANDRAGIRI CABLE CAR STATION
From Kathmandu to Chandragiri Cable Car button station, the distance between them is 12.1 km for one way which takes about 45minutes drive.
or
First reach Thankot which takes hour's drive from Kathmandu city. And hire a car right up to the station of take a bus from Kalanki to Thankot and walk around 10minutes.
